We care about our customers’ well-being and satisfaction.

While we offer gourmet cupcakes without nuts and/or gluten, all of our desserts are made fresh every day in our kitchen. Though safety and sanitation are of the utmost importance to us, the potential for cross-contamination does exist.

Our kitchen regularly prepares items with peanuts, tree nuts, nut oils and butters, and gluten, and therefore, cannot be certified as a nut-free or gluten-free product.

OUR POLICIES

By making a purchase,  or placing an order with us, whether in-person, over the phone, via email, or online,  you agree to be bound by our Store Policies.
It is the responsibility of you (the customer) to review our policies as they relate to your purchase or special order.

CHANGES AND CANCELLATIONS

Cancellations and/or changes for custom orders must be made at least 2 business days in advance of the scheduled pick up time. Store credit will be issued for cancellations received with proper notice. Your store credit expires 6 months from the date of issue. No refunds.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS

Food Returns: ALL SALES ARE FINAL. Absolutely no refunds or exchanges. We are not responsible for damaged products. Once you or a designated party has picked up an order/accepted a delivered order, it is considered "accepted". If there is an issue with your order, please inform us before you leave our shop with your order. We show all customers their orders before they leave, and after that they are the customer’s responsibility.  Refunds requested due to decorating style, writing, color shade, or general design will not be honored after accepting your order. If you try one of our products and just don't care for it, then we hope you try something different next time! However, a refund will not be given.

If you do not pick up your order, we do not give a refund. We cannot resell product that is not picked up by the customer, as most orders are customized for the ordering customer. We will give a reminder call if it’s close to our closing time, but it’s ultimately the customer’s responsibility to remember to pick up.

Please be sure you want the items before placing the order. Refunds will not be given once the order has been placed. 

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We offer Jumbo and Mini sizes. We sell the Jumbo every day in the bakery. Mini cupcakes are sold by the dozen and are only available by pre-order (24 hours advanced notice required).

We make "Gluten-Friendly" cupcakes and cakes.  The batter is gluten free, however, we are not a certified gluten free bakery and do make baked goods with wheat so there is a possibility of cross contamination.

Gluten-Friendly are available by special order in vanilla or chocolate. We require a half dozen minimum per flavor of the jumbo size or a dozen minimum per flavor of the mini size. Any of our cakes can be made gluten free.

If you have a design in mind, it is best to send us a few pictures of what you want us to create through our e-mail address: info@smallcakeselmhurst.com and one of our bakers/decorators will be in touch with you within 48 hours.

Also, let us know how many people it needs to serve and when you need your special order ready.

We are a small gourmet bakery and have limited capacity for special orders and occasionally hit our capacity. Most orders only require a 24-48 hour advanced notice. Cakes that require complex decorations can require at least a week's advanced notice.  Therefore, we would encourage you to order farther in advance for certain occasions to ensure we can accommodate your order. 

All special orders must be paid at time of order IN FULL. If it is a very large order or a wedding order for months out, payment installment arrangements can be discussed. However, all payments must be received not later than 2 weeks prior to the event.

If there is an issue with design, coloring or quality, it must be addressed at pick up. We want happy customers and will do everything we can to address your issue. However, we do not issue refunds on custom orders nor will we make exchanges once items have left our store. All cancellations must be received a minimum of 48 hours in advance.
